Google Photos Getting Ability to Search Photos by the Text That's... - Droid Life

Google Photosannounced via Twitter this week that starting this month, users will be able to search for photos via the text that’s in them.

For example, if you have a photo of a stop sign, you could go back and search for “stop” in the search bar and retrieve that photo. That’s fancy.

In addition, you’ll be able to click on text for an option to copy the text from photos and paste it wherever you may need it. Google’s example for why this is useful would be difficultly long WiFi passwords.

Be on the lookout for this change.

You spotted it! Starting this month, we’re rolling out the ability to search your photos by the text in them.

Once you find the photo you’re looking for, click the Lens button to easily copy and paste text. Take that, impossible wifi passwords 😏
