Kristen Bell: 'Veronica Mars' Is the 'Most Committed Long-Term Relationship' I've Been In - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

In the early 2000’s, Kristen Bell became famous for her role on the teen drama Veronica Mars. Now, more than 10 years later, she is still playing Veronica Mars with no signs of stopping.

Because fans love Veronica Mars so much, it seems like Bell will probably be a part of this show for a very long time. In fact, she compared it to being in a long-term relationship. Read on below to learn more about what Kristen Bell has to say about her role on the series.

‘Veronica Mars’ recently got a reboot

Throughout the seasons, viewers watched as Veronica solves various mysteries that plagued their town of Neptune, California.

The series gained a lot of fans and was also considered a success with the critics. However, Veronica Mars only ran until 2007 and was canceled after three seasons.

Despite its termination, fans were still dedicated to the show, which led to it getting a reboot on Hulu. The new reboot follows Veronica as a working adult, though she still solves mysteries with her father in Neptune. This fourth season premiered on July 19, 2019.

Bell says ‘Veronica Mars’ is important for her daughters

A big part of the reason why Kristen Bell chose to return to playing Veronica Mars after all these years is that she believes in the importance of having a character like Veronica Mars.

Speaking to Good Morning America, she said: “I want this girl, Veronica Mars, to be representation for other women, young girls… men, boys, anybody… I want her to exist and I want her to exist for my daughters.”

Bell also shared that Veronica Mars “has this balance of being tough and vulnerable, which everyone feels” and it makes her a very real as well as relatable character.

Bell wants to continue playing Veronica Mars for a long time

It’s quite clear that Kristen Bell really enjoys playing Veronica Mars. Fortunately for fans who love her, the actress is not looking to stop anytime soon.

At a recent comic-con panel, Bell said that she would be happy to play the character “until everyone in Neptune is dead.”

She also said her work with the show and fan base as “the best long term relationship I’ve ever been in.”

Is Bell joining the cast of another reboot?

Reboots are all the rage these days and Veronica Mars might not be the only one on Kristen Bell’s plate.

After Veronica Mars was canceled in 2007, Bell went on to another show – Gossip Girl. Here, she played the narrator, “Gossip Girl,” who provided the voice-over to give viewers insight into the lives of the other characters. Gossip Girl ended up becoming one of the most popular series on the CW before it ended in 2012.

There have been talks of a reboot for a while now and word on the street is that it could feature a new group of Upper East Side teenagers. Still, many old cast members, including Bell, have been contacted about possibly appearing in it.

However, Bell and the other people involved are not spilling any details as of now. At a comic-con panel, she shared: “Yes, I got a birthday email from [Gossip Girl co-creator] Josh Schwartz, and he mentioned it. I find that to be very exciting.”

When asked if she would be interested in being in the reboot, she simply responded: “Sure.”
